Helping Young Writers Finish Books

Private Writing Lessons and Publishing for Kids and Teens

Developmental Editing
I offer developmental editing for fiction, short stories, memoir, and novel writing. Developmental editing focuses on big-picture feedback such as structure, pacing, character development, and clarity.
Cost: $150 per hour.
If you are in the middle of a first draft, I can provide high-level feedback on what's working and what needs improvement. This does not include line-by-line notes. In most cases, I can read approximately 2,500 words per hour at this stage.
If you are working on a second draft and want more detailed line-level editing, the amount I can review depends on the quality of the writing and how much revision is needed.

Busy Writer Live Novel Workshop
Description:
The Busy Writer Workshop is a live novel writing workshop. This 25-week novel writing program is designed to help writers finish a complete first or second draft of a novel through structure, accountability, and guided writing time.
As soon as you sign up, you'll receive immediate access to the full asynchronous writing guide and video lessons, so you can begin preparing right away. All brainstorming and novel planning happens before the live workshop begins.
The live workshop includes everything from the asynchronous class, plus weekly live novel-writing classes. If you follow the system, you will finish the workshop with a complete draft.
This workshop is best for writers who want a clear, repeatable system for finishing a novel. You will write during class. Each session begins with discussion, questions, and guided brainstorming around one key writing skill. The middle portion of class is dedicated to writing time. We end with instruction and planning to set you up to continue writing on your own in the week.
Cost: $25 for each individual class.
